The Expedition
The Mount Everest skydive this October will push the participants to the very edge of extreme adventure. Jumping from 29,035ft (8,850m), they will freefall past the world's largest moutains and land a the highest Drop Zone (DZ) of 12,350ft.
The jump has been precision scheduled to avoid the 200mph jet stream that roars across Everest's summit, which would otherwise make such an attempt impossible.
Kate and the other participants will make a number of practice jumps from MI17 helicopters and M-28 Skytrucks to familiarise themselves with the unique challenges of the envionment before boarding a Turbine Pilatus Porter for the big jump.
This historic event will be filmed, by adventure documentary-maker Leo Dickinson, and distributed worldwide.
