Computer Clubs for Girls
Only 16% of the UK IT workforce is female, and the numbers are likely to decrease with women comprising only 20% of IT undergradutes.
The UK IT industry badly needs more female tech workers, and Computer Clubs for Girls (CC4G) aims to encourage girls aged between 10 and 14 to develop an interest inthe IT sector and learn core skills that will enable them to move into a sucessful career.
CC4G was created by the non-profit Sector SKills Coucil for IT and Telecoms to address the gender imbalance in the IT industry through challenging stereotypes and negative perceptions of the sector.
CC4G already helps more than 100,000 girls in over 3100 schools to realise their potential and awaken their interest in IT.
